Background:

Butlers Court School was opened in September 1981. It was an amalgamation of the former First and Middle Schools which were built in 1966. The School celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1991. It is house on a pleasant site with fourteen permanent classrooms, playing fields and pavilion, environmental studies area, greenhouse, ICT Suite, multi-purpose craft and resource rooms with a fully equipped library. There is also a purpose built Music Room and a fully networked computer suite with all classrooms connected to the internet and provided with interactive whiteboards. Parents have provided considerable financial support towards these projects.A new Administration Block has been added with funds raised by the School, LEA, parents and the community. This has provided a new secretarial office, medical room, special needs room, extended staffroom and a new entrance hall. An ICT suite is housed in the old dining room which incorporates the Library. This was funded by Government grants and parental contributions.Four new classrooms have been built. One has been provided using funds from the DFEE and the other was a self help project. A local property developer has also built two additional new classrooms using P.T.A. funds and a grant from the LEA. The School is now a two form entry Community Primary School .We cater for children in the age range four to 11 and children are admitted as Rising Fives in each of the three terms and attend for a full day. School offers a 'broad, balanced and challenging' curriculum, characterised by high-quality teaching and learning. An extensive range of curricular and extra-curricular activities is also available, such as athletics, football, cricket and netball. The intended admission number is 60 and admission is granted according to a list of priorities. The school caters primarily for children from the area of Beaconsfield although preference is given to children in the original reserved area and having siblings in the School. The School follows the Admission Policy as outlined by the LEA. 'The school is committed to providing a high quality education for all its pupils'.
