On attractive greenfield site near M40 in Beaconsfield old town; school opened in 1966; became foundation school in 1999. Specialist technology college status from 1997, with extensive ICT and design technology suites; also specialist language college status. Instrumental service provides extensive opportunities; girls regularly take part in national events in music and public-speaking; also compete nationally in sport and numerous competitions. Large and vibrant sixth form. Wide range of cultural trips; older pupils regularly have opportunities for overseas visits. School council; Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme; Young Enterprise; Model United Nations. Before-school care, from 8.30am; after-school care, until 5pm. Over-subscribed, with more than two applications per place. Sportsmark (2004); DfES achievement award (2001). Ethos: 'The school has a caring approach and is happy and welcoming.
