Background:
The school was opened in 1987 as a purpose-built middle school. Since then it has established a sound reputation within the community, solid links with other local schools and has achieved high standards academically, in sport, choral and orchestral music and drama. Pupils are accommodated in 16 classrooms. There is also spacious hall, computer suite, music room, design-technology room, a library with 15 computer workstations, and spacious grounds and playing fields. The school is proud of its continuing academic success and improvement and sporting achievements. It has won three of the four local education authority football trophies in a single season. It also runs after-school clubs for nine different sports including rugby, hockey, cricket, netball, athletics, cross-country running and gymnastics. The school aims to provide a safe and pleasant environment for effective learning.
