Background:
Stanton Middle is a purpose-built middle school designed for pupils aged eight to 12 years. It was opened in September 1975 and in February 2002 the school became a foundation school. The school has superb facilities with two playgrounds, playing fields, copse, ponds, conservation area, garden and lawns. The school also has a well-equipped hall, library, information technology area and an expressive arts room. School journeys and visits are also designed to complement work done in the classroom and there are often day visits to London, museums and theatres. A wide range of sporting activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include gymnastics, football, rugby, basketball and orienteering. The school aims to create a happy and stimulating environment in which its pupils can develop emotionally, socially, morally, spiritually and educationally.
