Built in 1961; situated in attractive grounds with large playing fields in quiet residential area; over-subscribed, with 1.5 applications per place. In addition to national curriculum, French is offered in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Wide range of extra-curricular activities, both during and after school: chess, netball, football, choir, athletics, gardening, tennis, and music. Educational visits made throughout school year; Year 6 pupils go on residential school journey to Isle of wight for five days in summer term. Visits from local community policeman, fire brigade, and Amersham plc, which provides scientists to lead lessons; also visits from elderly residents and voluntary helpers. Investor in People status; DfES achievement award.
