Background:
Founded in 1906, the school is set in 'attractive' grounds in the centre of the 'quiet and desirable' village of Ickford, 20 minutes from Oxford and convenient for the M40. A new teaching block with three further classrooms was added to the Victorian building in 1999. Facilities include 'good-sized' playgrounds and a sports field, and each class has at least two computers. The school is keen on sport and has teams in athletics, soccer, cricket, netball and swimming. Children have the opportunity to go on school visits, including annual residential visits for older children. The school works closely with partner schools in Finland and the Czech Republic, allowing pupils to work on joint projects and exchange work, pen-friend letters and e-mails.
